“God did that.”

-Barry

I did over 15 years in prisons and in jail. I was a nuisance in society. In 1998 the Holy Spirit did touch my life but I…  went back to using drugs and alcohol and my life ended up getting worse and I became a falling down hopeless drunk. Society… even my own brothers said I’ll either die an alcoholic or die in prison, but God’s proving them wrong. I don’t have to do nothin - God’s proving them wrong. I didn’t do anything myself- God changed me and He’s still working on me.

I was praying one night when the transformation began- He took drugs and alcohol out of my life … and I have no desire whatsoever and here it’s been over 8 years since I’ve drank or did any drugs.

There’s hope by coming in these meetings and being around positive people.

I ask people “Are you willing to change the people, places and things in your life? Cause that has to be done if you want to stay sober. You can’t hang around friends no more that use. You can’t hang around family that use, and that takes a lot of courage.

God can change anybody regardless of circumstances.

As long as you can breathe and as long as you can talk, God gives you that choice of everything we do, good and bad. Make that choice of talkin to Him. Just be honest with Him - tell Him how you feel- He already knows how you feel, but you voice and tell Him cause He can change it.
