3rd Anniversary Cookout Celebration

Still Waters Ministries began in the summer of 2023 when Linden Moore shared his story of addiction and recovery through Christ, at the Wadsworth Church of the Nazarene. With the encouragement of Pastor Josh Evans he began leading weekly discussion and support meetings. People seemed to like the interpersonal feel of the meetings and attendance grew. In order to expand the ministry's opportunities, with the help of Ralph Beery, the ministry moved to a rented space at the corner of Ohio Court and Ohio Street (across from the Rittman Police Station) at 8 North Main in Rittman, Ohio. Each year an anniversary cookout is held in August to celebrate what God has done for those who call Still Waters family. Celebrations include swimming, fishing, food, making new friends, playing games, and a casual outdoor church service the next morning. The best part is the campfire meeting where we get to hear from everyone who wants to share how life has changed for them over the past 12 months.

Highlights from past anniversary cookout celebrations include:

Year 1: 11 baptisms and approximately 30 people in attendance, more than a few people said they “never had so much fun sober”!

Year 2: nearly 60 Skypoint Addiction Treatment and Rehab residents in attendance and 13 baptisms, many fish caught from the pond

Year 3: corn hole tournament, delicious Baby Blou ice truck, and the decision to invite a different rehab facility each year to bring their residents to future Anniversary Cookouts
